Review by hotel critic
My recent stay at Maeco B&B in Siracusa was delightful, especially given the hotel’s prime location. Situated just a short stroll from the city's must-visit spots like the Cathedral and the Archaeological Park of Neapolis, it proved convenient for a solo traveler like me. The rooms were spacious and well-appointed, allowing for a peaceful retreat after a day of exploring. Each morning began with a complimentary buffet breakfast featuring local cuisine, which was a generous homage to Sicilian culinary traditions. Though I found the cappuccino limit amusingly peculiar, the rich flavor made each cup worthwhile. The vibrant atmosphere in the dining area complemented the experience. The staff demonstrated remarkable hospitality; a special mention to Martina, who was attentive and eager to assist with any inquiries. On rainy days, returning to the historic center’s comfort was both restorative and convenient. While arranging parking required coordination with a third-party service, it's a small trade-off for a stay in such a picturesque locale. Maeco’s ambiance and culinary offerings make it a noteworthy stop for any food enthusiast exploring the flavors of Sicily.
